Hummingbird House sleeps ten guests in five sea-facing double or twin rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Living, dining and outdoor is upstairs with bedrooms split between the two floors.

Whoever first built a property on the site of the current Hummingbird House certainly chose one of the finest locations in Antigua.

At around 100ft above sea level, the house catches the gentle and cooling trade winds breeze and enjoys magnificent views over Pigeon Beach and Falmouth Bay, out towards Montserrat and the Caribbean sea beyond.

Set in almost an acre of tropical gardens and bordered to the South by the hills of the National Park, the house is totally private yet only a 5 minute walk from idyllic Pigeon Beach, Falmouth Marina with its shops, bars and restaurants, and from historic Nelson’s Dockyard in English Harbour.

Hummingbird House is not just another rental villa but a beautiful Caribbean home of the highest quality blending Colonial style with contemporary living.

Renowned English architect Andrew Goodenough has achieved the perfect balance between indoor and outdoor casual living with spacious rooms, large verandahs, and a stunning pool deck all facing West to enjoy a sundowner as the sun drops over Montserrat. The tasteful and eclectic mix of Colonial style furnishings has been sourced from around the world and blends with cool travertine floors, delicate paint colours, wooden vaulted ceilings, wide French doors and louvred windows.

For complete relaxation, the verandahs at Hummingbird provide the ideal spot to watch the coming and going of some of the world’s most luxurious yachts or simply the endless visits of tropical birds to the lush gardens.

For those wanting more action, the hustle and bustle of Falmouth Marina offers great local bars, French, Italian and Caribbean food, and night spots, often with live music..
The Antiguan housekeeper, Dorothy, will be pleased to look after the house for up to 5 days a week during your stay.

The property managers are situated within half a mile to help with any requests or issues that may arise. A chef can be arranged and boat trips, island tours, diving, horseriding, golf and historic walks are all available. The house has a full Cable TV and sound system with indoor and outdoor speakers and there is wireless internet connection. For security, there is an automatic electric gate and an alarm system around the outside of the property. All rooms have 110 volt electrical outlets with 220 volts in the kitchen area (transformers are available). There is a generator housed in the garden which starts automatically should there be a power cut. All rooms have ceiling fans and all bedrooms have air conditioning. The pool is serviced weekly.
The property is managed by a local company whose offices are only a 10 minute walk from the house and who look after all aspects of running and maintaining Hummingbird including the services of Dorothy the housekeeper and Craig the gardener. They will be happy to deal swiftly and efficiently with any queries or requests and can advise on the locations and availability of special activities around the island.
